California Wine Tasting Championships
ANDERSON VALLEY~ Greenwood Ridge Vineyards Winery ~ Tasters have the opportunity to challenge their palates by identifying varieties wines in a casual atmosphere with live entertainment, great food, and beautiful panoramic scenery. Amateur and professional level. Anyone can compete, while you observe some of the best in the state.

MENDOCINO MUSIC FESTIVAL ~July 11 - 22
The 20th Annual Mendocino Music Festival returns to the Headlands on, July 11, 2007 and runs through Saturday, July 22. Evenings include orchestra concerts, the popular Big Band concert, chamber music ensembles, dance, blues, world, and folk music. Days include lecture/recitals at the Piano Series, a children's matinee, performances by the Young Musicians, and chamber concerts at beautiful venues throughout Mendocino Village.. Tickets go on sale May 1.

Explore the arts! Take a class, listen to a concert, enjoy the theatre, relax in the gardens, view our exhibits, buy a piece of local art, talk with artists, go on a garden tour, join the fun. There is always something going on!!

 

AUGUST

Fisherman's Harbor & Seafood Festival
POINT ARENA - Festival activities include the "Best Smoked Salmon on the Coast" contest, free boats rides, kids, games, a nautical flea market, skiff race, live music, seafood galore, plus salads and desserts. Soft drinks and beers on tap will be available. Proceed from the event are used to improve and maintain the Pt. Arena pier.

NATIONAL LIGHTHOUSE DAY ~ August 06

A weekend of organic farm and processor tours, presentations and workshops during the days, culminating in a big tent organic food and wine tasting, dinner and auction, to benefit the Cancer Resource Center of Mendocino County

BOONVILLE - Great fun for the entire family! Three fun filled days of old fashioned country fair will be held at the Fairgrounds. The Fair features, rodeo, sheep dog trials, animal judging, midway, square dancing hoedown and a parade on Sunday and much more . . . . . .

PORTUGUESE FESTA ~ September 16 & 17
FORT BRAGG- Held at 822 Stewart Street, Pentecost Hall. Friday "All you can eat fish dinner" Adults $15., Kids 5-12yrs $6. Music starts at 8pm. Saturday: Portuguese beef stew dinner, served at 5, 6, 7 & 8 pm. Dinner tickets can be picked up at 3pm. Music begins at 8pm. Sunday: Parade starts from Pentecost Hall @10am. Traditional Sopas starts at 10:30am, once the parade leaves the hall. Parade returns at 1:30pm & Sopas are served until 3pm. Auction starts at about 2pm. Music from 2-7pm.
